BE 06-29 has arrived and it's a baby eagle, also known as an eaglet. It comes to us from Dutch Harbor, Alaska. It was knocked from it's nest by high winds and then found on the side of the road. It's around three weeks old. Updates will be coming.
Robin - it is young. But it is a good eater though.
John - the decission on how to handle this bird hasn't been made yet. We just got it. Chances are if it stays healthy it will be placed with a falconer who will be a foster parent to ensure healthy, social development. All young and orphaned birds must demonstrate hunting skills with live prey for several weeks prior to release.

I hope it fares well. It looks so young and helpless. At least it's really in good hands. Looking forward to your updates on this one.
Do you think it will learn to be wild?

Not that we can tell Britt. It has a touch of the runs, but that can be from change of diet.
