Scarlet & Hal go to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

A beautiful day at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Scarlet & Hal had their own ride while the rest of had a short hike back to the presentation area.
We had a very nice crowd from China and an awesome background. It was a very hot day and there were some forest fires burning about 15 miles away.
It was a little challenging having to use interpreters, since Patricia and I don't speak Mandarin But it went well..
The young kids are the ones most excited and they spoke fair English.

Trying to catch up from a busy summer

Boy Scouts working on their Eagle Award are always a big help to Bird TLC. Chris built this new eagle mew and Ian (on bench) built 6 benches for placement through out the mew yard. Thanks guys!

We had a few interns visit us almost regularly from the Alaska Wildlife Concervation Center in Portage. Amber, Emily and a few others were a big help around the clinic.

Summer is on the downhill side now and the girls will be headed back to school soon.

I'll try to keep up on my posting. It's been a busy summer.

Education Presenter Orientation

The Bird TLC Education Committee put on another Orientation Program tonight with an awesome turn out. Over 20 people interested in being one of our education presenters were on hand. We also had guests from Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. They are working on developing a program of their own.

Everything was discussed from how to present, what not to wear....

gear for the bird, gear for the presenter and then

everyone that wanted was able to test drive one of our education birds.
