Crossbills

We have both a male and a female White-Winged Crossbill that will be visiting with us through winter. They are victims of window hits. Unfortunately, they will miss their migration by the time they are well enough to travel.

The red one is the male. They will have first class acomadations until next fall when they will be released when their friend come back.

We had a male cross-bill at our feeder once last year. Never saw one again, but I'm always on the look-out. That pair you have is lucky to for being so well cared for and in such good hands.

What a pair of cuties!
I can only hope and wish to see any crossbills. Ohio has maybe two hemlock gorges in the entire state and crossbills are rare, to say the least.

Thank goodness they are in a safe place.
