2014 "For the Birds"

Again this year Bird TLC "For the Birds" had a great turn out. The auction committee needs a big pat on the back for putting such a wonderful event on.

A lot of Bird TLC's education irds were there along with their presenters.

Of course Kodi was there soaking up the attention.

Lots of items were up for bid in the live auction as well

and we had presenters of all ages.

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported Bird TLC last night!

Bird TLC 25th Anniversary / Live & Silent Auction

And again the auction was a hit. Good food, nice items for bid and a great crowd.

16 of our education birds were on display and being presented by volunteers.

All types of items were available in a silent bid and a live bid. Here Officer Evans and Jimmie Lee offer a ride along.

A cash call out for the Flight Center brought in much needed cash for much needed repairs.

And people went home with some lovely items and the proceeds going "For the Birds".

Getting ready for the auction

We're getting ready for "For the Birds" Live and silent auction this coming Friday at the Anchorage Hilton. Lot's of great donations have been pouring in. The nice thing about helping with the auction, you get an early preview of what's going to be there.

There's everything from art, trips, beer, dinners, and a few surprises. The committee is in the process of getting the items organized and cataloged and stuff.

I think Cindy is trying out a few things that she's going to bid on. I hope they come with instructions.

The support of people and businesses is amazing. It should be an awesome auction. It's both live and silent and our auctioneer is Cary Carrington. Tickets are available and will also be sold at the door.

Call the Bird TLC office during normal business hours at 907-562-4852.
This is our main fundraiser for the year. Proceeds help out Alaska's wild birds in need.

"Because wild birds don't have health insurance".

Tickets are available at the door!

"For the Birds" 2010 is over

The evening started with Eryn doing an AWESOME job playing the piano for our arriving guest. That little lady has a lot of talent.

Our education birds were out entertaining the attendees. Everyone got to see what Bird TLC has to offer for education programs.

Staff and volunteers were busy most of the night.
We had to add 2 more tables. The event turn out to be a huge success. The calculators will be clicking away on Monday, but early reports are that we made over $23K "For the Birds"

If you missed "For the Birds"

A heck of a time was had by all and a lot of money was raised "For the Birds". There were a heck of a lot of good deals made also. There were over 125 silent and live auction items ranging from auto repair to trips to art and jewelry. There were fishing trips and train trips or you could fly any where's that ERA Aviation flies. There was something for everyone.

We also had our education birds doing presentations before the show started. Cindy brought Phoenix the osprey out for his first presentation and he looked like a pro. We had raptors and songbirds showing off who they were and what the auction was about.

Thank you to all of the donors, supporters and thank you to all of the generous people who took something special home. We know times are tough now and every penny has to count.

Also, thanks to all of the volunteers who put the event together and helped during the auction. As always, it can't be done without you!
